Q: Who is Demachina, I don't know your company?
Demachina is a young company that specialises in state of the art software development and consultancy. Although not a hardware vendor we occasionally buy hardware in bulk from bankrupt companies or when hardware is phased out.

Q: Where do these iPAQs come from, are they legal?
The iPAQs sold on this site all come from a single company that sells mobile GPS solutions. They recently moved to a new hardware platform and sold all their existing stock to Demachina.

Q: You mention that the units in the Bronze bundle are scratched, how badly?
All iPAQs sold on this site are fully functional. However, some can not be sold as new or refurbished because they have some scratches on the screen. The ones sold as part of the Bronze bundle have visible scratches on the screen. Sample digital photos can be found here, here and here.

Q: How do I configure the GPS unit to 'talk' to the iPAQ?
The iPAQ and the GPS unit need to be configured once so they can talk to each other. Instructions can be found here.

Q: I am using version xx.yy of TomTom and I cannot make it work
First of all, make sure you use a legal copy of TomTom. If you bought it for under £80 from eBay then it is likely that you have purchased an illegal copy. A legal copy of the latest version of TomTom is available for purchase on Demachina's site.

Before all packages are dispatched they are tested with TomTom 5.21, so it should work. To check if your GPS unit is working correctly, download the free GPS Monitor. This application also allows you to perform a 'factory reset'. This is sometimes necessary when the GPS unit gets confused. If you can't figure out how this application works then you can also remove the battery from the GPS unit for 15 minutes. This should reset it as well.

Make sure your iPAQ is running the latest version of the operating system. Check this by going to Start / Settings / System / Asset Viewer / Version. The ROM Revision should be 1.10 or newer. If it is older, e.g. 1.0 then download the latest version and install it.
